We offer 3 levels of direct involvement in your theoretical research:

Review of a Theory: Completed papers will be briefly reviewed and the integrity of the theoretical research commented on. Specific content often requiring a review of the relevant literature will not be addressed. This level of involvement will help aspiring theoretical researchers advance the quality of their theory or discard works that are not solid. To request a review provide an abstract initially and confirm that the paper has been completed. Partially written works will NOT be considered for review. If a paper is accepted for review please send it as a PDF or word document.

Collaboration: Dr Bowins will work with the theoretical researcher on a paper addressing both the integrity of the theory and relevant literature. Given that this is a very time-consuming level of involvement the researcher must agree in contract form to Dr. Bowins having second authorship (after all the primary authors). It must be understood that as first author it will be your responsibility to complete the actual write-up of the paper. To request collaboration please contact Dr. Bowins by email including a brief summary of the theoretical proposition.

Mentorship: The basic process applied in the second level of involvement is extended over more than one theoretical paper to foster the growth of the person’s career as a theoretical researcher. As in the second level of involvement, the researcher must agree in contract form to Dr. Bowins having second authorship (after all primary authors). This advanced level of involvement will likely follow from an initial collaboration, but can be requested beforehand. Please contact Dr. Bowins by email including a brief summary of the theoretical proposition.

Theory Development Assistance

Please note that this service is for psychiatrists, psychiatric residents, or scholars in clinical psychology and related disciplines at a Master’s or PhD level.

Dr Bowins has published theories in peer-reviewed journals (see the articles available as a download). In the process of completing these projects he has developed significant skill at this form of research, and is interested in assisting those who wish to produce solid theoretical works. This service is offered on a non-monetary basis to those qualified based on the criteria listed at the start of this section.
